Marketing/Staff Development - Graduate Assistant

Position Description

The Marketing/Development position will assist in the development and implementation of the department's overall marketing plan and student staff development program. This position will afford an opportunity to assist in a variety of marketing and staff development initiatives including advertising, promotions, campus outreach, staff training and recruitment. Responsibilities

The Graduate Assistant will become integrally involved in the following responsibilities: assist in the design of promotional and multi-media marketing materials; assist in the recruitment and management of student staff; develop and present on recruitment and orientation information as well as outreach activities to campus groups; assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of leadership teams; and assist in web site review and updates. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the department.

Qualifications

All applicants must qualify for admission to the Illinois State University Graduate School. A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Recreation, Physical Education, Recreation Administration, or related field is preferred. Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills are required. Preferred qualifications include supervisory experience, a graphic design background using Adobe software, and experience with web site design.

Contract Dates

August 1, 2007 to May 15, 2008. Two-year assistantship available, pending satisfactory performance. Summer employment is available.

Stipend

$895/month for 9 ½ months, plus in-state and out-of-state tuition waiver.
