Get into the great outdoors! We offer a wide variety of trips during the fall and spring semesters. For more specific information, call 438-7529. You can also stop by the Outdoor Adventure Rental Center at 220 N. Main or the Student Recreation Building at the corner of Beech and Willow.

Trip Planning Meetings

Trips have a mandatory Planning Meeting that generally lasts about 1 ½ hours. All participants must attend the entire meeting. Extended trips (5-14 days) may require longer or more than one meeting. Before signing up, note the date and time of the meeting and make sure you can attend. If you do not attend, you will not be allowed on the trip and you will not receive a refund.

Registration

Registration for a trip can be done one of three ways:
 1. Stop by the Outdoor Adventure Rental Center
 2. Stop by the Student Recreation Building
 3. Phone in your registration by calling 438-7529 and using a credit card

Registration is available for anyone who is at least 18 years of age. ISU students, faculty and staff must present their valid university ID in order to obtain their discounted rate. Payments can be made in cash or by using your Visa, MasterCard or Discover. If you have questions about prices or registration please call 438-7529.

Trip Refund Policy

If a participant cancels the day of or after the registration deadline, no refund will be given. If a participant cancels prior to the registration deadline, they will forfeit the cost of the transportation for the trip. If the participant cancelling finds another person to go in their place before the registration deadline, they will receive a full refund.

Participants will receive a full refund for any trip canceled by the Outdoor Adventure Program. The Outdoor Adventure Program reserves the right to cancel a trip due to low enrollment, inclement weather, environmental hazards, or any other reason they deem necessary.

Trip Pricing

Trip fees are kept as low as possible. Fees generally cover transportation, camping and park entrance fees, permits and group equipment. The cost of food will be determined at the mandatory pre-trip meeting. Participants will decide on a menu at that time and money will be collected. Participants will need to provide their own personal equipment, i.e. sleeping bag, sleeping pad, clothing, etc. Students may check out equipment to use during an Outdoor Adventure Program sponsored trip from the Outdoor Adventure Rental Center at no charge. ISU faculty, staff, and the community will need to pay their respective regular rate.
